Grateful Dead 2009 Concert Tour

The Grateful Dead was one of the greatest touring bands ever. Even though they rarely charted, the band sold millions of albums and produced legions of loyal fans that followed them from venue to venue.

Four of the surviving members of The Grateful Dead are to regroup for a 19 date US tour later this year. Ratdog keyboardist, Jeff Chimenti, and Allman Brothers Band/Govt Mule guitarist, Warren Haynes will be joining in the concert with original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart. Grateful Dead 2009 Concert Tour will be the first official Dead tour since 2004.

Tour dates are scheduled to kick off on April 12 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Among their 19 stops will be shows in New York City (Madison Square Garden), Philadelphia (The Spectrum), Denver (Pepsi Center), and Los Angeles (The Forum). The tour will end near The Dead's hometown of San Francisco - in Mountain View, California on May 10. Ticket presales are set to begin on January 13. Nationwide ticket sales begin on January 23.
